There are many competing answers to that question in the world around us and our own hearts. When our lives are guided by the wrong commandment we will have wrong goals and make wrong decisions.
Jesus was asked which commandment is most important. He replied: You shall love the Jehovah your God with all your heart, soul and mind. He then adds this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. (Matt 22:37-40)
This is the great commandment meant to guide our lives. Jesus’ words get to the heart! We are to love the one true God with everything in us. It is the only right response to a God who loved us when we were His enemies. But it doesn’t end there – Jesus’ vertical command leads naturally to a horizontal command: love your neighbor as yourself. Come join us as we learn how to love God first, and to love our neighbor in a way that honors Him.
We eagerly anticipate learning and growing together as we explore how our Savior’s great command changes everything!

The Pre-conference, Main Conference, and Youth Portion are all part of the “O Church, Arise!” conference series held annually at Bethany URC.
