Scripture is full of references to the heart. Here are just a few:  “Guard your heart,” “Search me O God, and know my heart,” “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” Proverbs 4:23 tells us that from our heart spring the issues of life. Clearly, our hearts are very important.

But how can we possibly understand our own hearts?  Hebrews 4:12 tells us the Word of God is living and powerful…and discerns the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:13 says we are open and laid bare before the eyes of God. He sees the things that make us tick. Part of God’s intention for Scripture is to help us begin to understand our own hearts and the hearts of others – in order to glorify Him and live before Him rightly.

“Gospel Heart Change” is a Friday night and Saturday morning conference hosted by The Shepherd’s Way Biblical Counseling of Bethany United Reformed Church.  We invite Reformed believers ages high school and up to come together for a short time of encouragement, instruction, fellowship and growth.

“Shepherding Hearts” is our pre-conference, available to current and retired office bearers and their wives.  We invite pastors, elders, deacons, and their wives to join us on Thursday evening.  Note that the pre-conference is moved this year. See the Schedule tab for a detailed schedule.   

Our conference also includes a Youth Portion, where high school students enjoy the keynote speeches and then attend unique sectionals planned especially for them.

The Pre-conference, Main Conference, and Youth Portion are all part of the “O Church, Arise!” conference series held annually at Bethany URC.  Our mission is to teach the peace and comfort that comes from God’s Word and how to utilize the Word in discipling others who struggle with the trials and temptation of this sinful world.

We invite God’s people to join us for this opportunity to learn, grow and flourish in our walk together and with our glorious God.
