RESPONDING TO TRAUMA
Rev. Garry Eriks – Trauma” is a term used in many different contexts.  What does it mean?  The word “trauma” is not found is the Bible, but does that mean scripture does not speak to trauma?  Learn how we can faithfully walk beside those who’ve experienced traumatic events in their lives.

ANXIETY = FEAR
Rev. Doug Barnes – The world is full of anxious people, and God’s people are certainly not exempt from anxiety.  Is anxiety really the same thing as fear? When scripture says “Fear not!”, is this an angry command from God to anxious people?  Rev. Barnes will discuss biblical ways to address anxiety and fear.

FEARS MEN FACE
Rev. Bill Boekestein – God has created men and women with vast differences.  How is God’s unique design of men reflected in the things that men fear?  Why do men seem reluctant to admit their fears?  Is this simply God’s creation, or something men should endeavor to change?  This sectional will discuss the facts of men’s fears, and explore ways to respond obediently to those fears.  (Men only, please.)

FEARS WOMEN FACE
Mrs. Terri Pols –  God has created men and women with vast differences.  Should women be more fearful than men?  If certain fears are unique to women, are there uniquely female ways to grapple with our fears?  Terri will address the distinctive fears that women face, and examine how women are called to respond in obedience to the fears they face.  (Women only, please.)

WALKING WITH A FEARFUL FRIEND
Mrs. Meribeth Scheirbeek – Most of us know someone more fearful than ourselves.  As Christians, we want to have compassion for them and be encouraging.  This can be difficult, especially if we cannot personally understand their fears.  We will examine ways to love our neighbor as ourself when we have fearful neighbor.

YOUTH ONLY:  UNIQUE FEARS OF YOUTH
Rev. Greg Lubbers – The teenage years can bring their own set of fears and anxieties. Rev. Lubbers will discuss some of the common fears and anxieties that can plague the high school years, and give biblical ways to respond. His wife, Jeni, will also share some practical insight into handling anxiety. This sectional is for high school students only.

PERFECTIONISM AND CONTROL
Professor Cory Griess – What do perfectionism and control have in common?  Are these simply personality traits that cannot be helped, or does God have something to say about them?  This sectional will investigate how God’s Word approaches these two common issues and how they relate to our sanctification.  

THE PERILS OF PEOPLE PLEASING
Mrs. Jen Eriks – Do you care too much about what others think of you?  Does your desire to be approved by others change what you do and say?  Then you might be a people pleaser.  Is this really a problem for the child of God?   How does being a people pleaser relate to fear?  Find out how to recognize this tendency in yourself and how to escape the peril of people pleasing.
